How would you handle taking someone else's work and getting it ready for engine (ie troubleshooting, bug checking)?

I would approach it by utilizing the company's (gold) standard pipeline and checks. (note: I proceeded by telling an anecdote of how I handled similar issues at my previous company, what problems I faced on a daily basis and what I did in order to complete my objective in an efficient manner and always delivered on time).
