About the Role

As the Cybersecurity Expert SME, you will be responsible for protecting critical telecommunications infrastructure by monitoring security events, detecting cyber threats, coordinating incident response activities, and ensuring compliance with security standards and best practices.

Working closely with SOC, NOC, and engineering teams, you will help strengthen operational resilience, integrate security into day-to-day network operations, and contribute to the continuous improvement of cybersecurity capabilities across a complex telecom environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze security events, alerts, and anomalies across telecommunications networks.
• Investigate and respond to cybersecurity incidents affecting network infrastructure and services.
• Collaborate with SOC teams to detect threats and coordinate effective incident response.
• Ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Perform vulnerability assessments and security risk analysis across network components.
• Support the integration of cybersecurity monitoring within NOC operations.
• Define, monitor, and report security KPIs and operational metrics.
• Participate in incident response exercises, simulations, and readiness planning.
• Identify emerging threats and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Ensure alignment between operational processes and cybersecurity controls.
• Support internal and external security audits and compliance assessments.
• Deliver cybersecurity awareness sessions and promote security best practices across operational teams.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 5–8 years of experience in Cybersecurity, preferably within telecommunications environments.
• Hands-on experience working in Security Operations Centers (SOC).
• Strong experience with SIEM platforms such as:
• Splunk
• IBM QRadar
• Similar enterprise SIEM solutions
• Solid understanding of:
• Network Security
• Telecommunications Architectures
• Critical Infrastructure Protection
• Experience with:
• Incident Response
• Threat Detection
• Vulnerability Management
• Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and standards, including:
• ISO 27001
• NIST Cybersecurity Framework
• Understanding of telecommunications protocols and network infrastructure security.
• Strong analytical, investigative, and risk assessment skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams.
• English proficiency at B2 level or above.
• Availability for international travel, including assignments of up to three months in Saudi Arabia.

Nice to Have

• Experience integrating cybersecurity monitoring into Network Operations Centers (NOC).
• Knowledge of threat intelligence platforms.
• Experience with Security Orchestration, Automation and Response (SOAR) solutions.
• Relevant cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security+, GSEC, or similar.
• Previous experience supporting large-scale telecommunications operators.
