We are redefining the traditional DBA role into a modern Data Platform Engineering function, focused on automation, reliability, cloud-native operations, and scalable patterns for database infrastructure across the company. Our team partners with multiple product and platform squads to provide a robust database platform on AWS, primarily using RDS with PostgreSQL, while also supporting Oracle and SQL Server workloads.

We also lead strategic initiatives such as migrating mainframe DB2 (z/OS) workloads to AWS using AWS DMS, implementing Infrastructure as Code, enhancing observability, and creating automation and AI-driven workflows. This is a global team.

Main Responsibilities

• Design and deliver highly reliable, secure, and automated database environments on AWS;
• Provision and operate AWS RDS instances (mainly PostgreSQL; Oracle/SQL Server as secondary);
• Maintain reusable cloud/database standards, Terraform modules, and Flyway pipelines;
• Plan and execute data migrations between different databases;
• Ensure security, governance, and compliance in database environments;
• Collaborate with development teams on SQL tuning, schema modeling, and troubleshooting;
• Build and maintain automations (Terraform pipelines and workflows);
• Produce documentation, architecture standards, runbooks, and mentor engineers;
• Evaluate tools and technologies to support the modernization of the platform.

Skills You Need

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Analysis and Development, or related fields;
• Advanced English: broad vocabulary, good grammar, conducts meetings, argues, negotiates, and delivers training sessions;
• Strong AWS experience, especially RDS (PostgreSQL required);
• Hands-on database administration experience (snapshots, replication, tuning);
• Proficiency with Terraform (IaC);
• Experience with schema versioning/migrations (Flyway);
• Hands-on experience with AWS DMS migrations;
• Scripting/automation experience (Bash, Python);
• Strong SQL expertise and performance optimization skills;
• Availability to work in a hybrid model in Indaiatuba/SP.
