Very good place to work

Pros

A good opportunity for growth. Interesting tasks and a great team. Awesome tech stack. Adequate management. During the beginning of the war, the team helped a lot with renting apartments, hotels, etc. For a couple of months, the company did not require everyone to work, so that everyone could safely move to other cities and set up the work process again.

Cons

The offices in Kyiv and Santa Monica work on the same product, so there are problems with time zones. Sometimes small problems take several days to resolve due to communication delays. Collaboration is inconvenient and not as effective as it could be.

Pros

Despite onboarding remotely (during Covid-19), my experience has been nothing short of remarkable. The onboarding process was extremely organized. Both my own team and the People Operations team did an amazing job of making me feel welcome and informed. There are recurring virtual events that keep everyone connected and there are several resources to ensure that employees remain motivated and energized during this time. Even though I am not physically with my team and others in the company, there is still a strong collaborative culture. Everyone is working toward the same goal of driving success for our games. PlayQ strives toward an environment that encourages idea-sharing from every level of the organization, and has an experimental mindset in its approach. Transparency is encouraged from all levels, and feedback is frequently shared among employees, direct reports, and managers. There are plenty of points to surface feedback which makes employees feel heard and appreciated. The company is unique in its growth and has extremely talented teams that don't stop. We are constantly striving for the best and it shows.

Cons

The only con is more of a work-style and culture preference. If you are used to a large organization where there is a set hierarchy of command, then PlayQ is not for you. If you like to sit comfortably and be told what to do, then PlayQ is not for you. Your success here is all yours. You have the runway and the opportunity to shape your own projects, role, career, and success of the company. A constant hunger and drive is essential to excel here.
