Overview

Power Home Remodeling (POWER) is the largest exterior home remodeler in the U.S, operating in 23 major metropolitan areas in the Northeast, Midwest, South, and West. With a focus on energy-efficient home upgrades, POWER provides personalized services and unique products designed to meet the environmental, aesthetic, and energy demands of its region. Founded in 1992, Power has served over 1 million lifetime customers and brings in $1.4 billion in annual revenue.

Challenges

A frequent winner of Glassdoor’s annual Best Places to Work (BPTW) awards, POWER has long prided itself on fostering a workplace built on its values of  integrity, commitment, care, innovation, and optimism. Each year, the company dedicates over 2% of top-line revenue toward over 250 yearly employee engagements — from an annual company retreat in Mexico, called “Quest,” to mentor workshops and mindset camps to frequent hackathons.

These events and more speak to POWER’s goal of being more like a community than just a place to work. But the company has found it challenging to articulate these opportunities to potential candidates at the top of the hiring funnel — especially when the construction industry is often stereotyped as being unprofessional and lacking in equitable opportunities and long-term advancement.

To help cement its positive brand reputation and reach talent earlier in their job-seeking journey, the company needed a way to share its story more authentically and tackle those misconceptions head on.

Solutions

Glassdoor’s Employer Branding Hub (EBH) and Review Intelligence™ tools played a pivotal role in helping POWER gather insights about its employer brand and optimize content across its employer profile.

By building out the company’s Why Work With Us section via EBH, POWER was able to shine a light on the many stand-out aspects of its employer brand. This includes a culture fueled by growth, service, and shared experiences; professional advancement opportunities like craftsmanship and code academies; a Business Technology division modeled after start-ups, and more.

In addition, EBH’s advanced analytics helped POWER further refine its branding and recruiting approach by providing crucial data — like which job titles and locations had the most apply starts, and which competitors rivaled its brand visibility.

Finally, with Review Intelligence, POWER monitored how employee sentiment was tracking across its Glassdoor reviews. By understanding which parts of its employer brand were viewed most positively by employees — such as career development and management — and which could use some improvement, POWER was able to make more informed decisions about where to invest its resources for the biggest impact.

Results

After a two-year absence, POWER returned to Glassdoor’s Best Places to Work list in 2024, and claimed a spot on Glassdoor’s inaugural Best-Led Companies list that same year. With its investment in brand and reputation management, POWER also saw a massive 125% YoY increase in apply starts for sponsored jobs1 and a 94% YoY increase in applies for sponsored jobs.2

With a 71% YoY increase, POWER was the top employer in the construction industry for brand impressions across Glassdoor and Indeed in 2024.3 It also came in #1 in the industry for job clicks for both 2023 and 2024,4 and achieved a 52% YoY increase in page views.5

Backed by these impressive stats, POWER landed a spot on two of Glassdoor’s 2025 lists: Best Places to Work (its eighth appearance) and Best-Led Companies.

Glassdoor has played an instrumental role in helping POWER amplify our employer brand. Through Glassdoor’s suite of tools, we were better able to convey the experience of what it’s like to work at POWER — an experience that is fun, community-oriented, and fulfilling, which is unexpected in our industry. It’s given us the opportunity to reach more candidates, thus supporting the overall growth of our business.”
