Would you take a paycut to join visa ?
I'm an AE at Microsoft and have 'climbed the ladder' from a junior entry level vendor role. I'm learning a tonne in my current role and feel there's a ceiling to my career progression. I'm a victim of not hopping around tech companies to benefit from salary bumps. As a result, my salary and level are lower than what they should be. I have a potential opp to join Google as an AE in a different role, potentially more junior but would massively boost my sales accumen, Should i make the jump?
More companies announcing layoffs. If you were a CEO with a heart, what would you offer as severance? I think most of the severance offered is too low.
I had a moment today where I realized life has gotten expensive and I need to make more. What was your trigger point when you realized your salary wasn't enough for your lifestyle? Did you advocate for more money or look for a new job?
Renters - what is your base pay and how much do you pay in rent? I make $125,000 and pay $2,000 for a 1B. I'm curious what other folks in tech spend.
This market is brutal
This really depends on what company you’re coming from and if you feel like the brand-name will help you get other opportunities in the future.
Mastercard to Visa
Depends if it’s contract or salary, office location, and how much of a cut
What % pay cut is this?
Nope and I know this for a fact because I didn’t. It was about maybe three years ago. They kept saying they could meet my number as long as they could get a title bump approved. Basically they posted it as a Dir and they would need to get into the Sr. Dir band. They were able to get the title bump but then came back with lass than I was making and I passed. I felt a little bad because I had an internal referral but then he left Visa within a year.
How much of a paycut? Where are you trying to go with your career?
