Pleasant, I met with the director and a team member. We discussed my resume, why I was interested in recruiting and company culture. They are looking for someone who is very sales and money driven so many of the questions I was asked circled around that focus.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Aerotek (Columbus, OH)
Interview
At first it was very professional and a great conversation was going and at the end of the interview I was told my answers weren't good. So I knew immediately I wasn't getting the job. The comment through me off and I thought was unnecessary. the recruiter I initially spoke with was very friendly and told me she thought all of my answers were great, so I went in confident and left with 0 confidence.
I submitted my application online, and within a week I had received a phone call to schedule a phone interview. The recruiter was friendly and even added me on LinkedIn
The interview was pretty basic in terms of a sales position. They asked a lot of situation questions on my sales experience. I answered all the questions without much difficulty.
The one thing that seemed to prevent me from moving forward was my lack of cold calling experience. After I had told them I did not have any experience with cold calling, I could tell that the interview was basically over. I even asked at the end if my lack of cold calling experience was going to hold me back from moving forward. She said no, although by the tone of her voice I could tell it was a huge factor. This is one thing I found a little ridiculous about the process. I had other sales experience, and I felt like cold calling could be learned/taught in a rather short amount of time.
All in all, it was a pretty basic sales interview. They're just really looking for people with cold calling experience.
