I applied online. I interviewed at Airbnb in May 2021
Interview
Had 7 rounds of interviews including online hacker rank.
Had to follow up with the hr multiple times for the feedback and scheduling interviews.
Very bad recruiter experience.I would have expected the recruiter to atleast inform where things went wrong .Had to ping several times to know the status.Having undergone 7 rounds of interviewing and not knowing where things went wrong is not a great experience and does reflect well on the company

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Airbnb (San Francisco, CA)
Interview
The interviewer gave me a coderpad and did not give me any skeleton code. That's ok, I figured it out after a lot of questions. They were reluctant to engage but I got it out of them. I then suggested a completely acceptable approach which they were quick to shut down because they wanted it done their way. I then worked my way thru their way and ended up running out of time. The interviewer didn't sound like they wanted to be there.
I later coded it up with my approach and it worked perfectly fine. I have not received any updates since the interview, which was a month ago.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Airbnb in Aug 2020
Interview
Recruiter reached out. 2 technical phone screens, then 1 onsite. Wasn't told until after the onsite that there might be further technical interviews, and there will be a cross-functional interview. Company took weeks to get back after onsite. Recruiter said they're putting together an offer and then suddenly said they decided not to move forward at the last step. Feedback seemed subjective as I heard conflicting feedback from the different recruiters throughout the process. Was not the experience I expected from Airbnb based on their culture.
