The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Airbnb (San Francisco, CA) in Nov 2015
Interview
I applied through recruiter and had onsite interview in SF. The interviews are mostly pair coding on a computer plus two rounds culture fit. The questions are quite challenging if you didn't meet them before. I didn't use glassdoor to prepare the interviews and now I realize the questions asked were actually posted here. The food is quite good there and the working environment is awesome.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Airbnb in Jan 2016
Interview
Contacted by one hr and Talked with hr about my current projects and why Airbnb. and did phone interview. The question is easy but too nervous and failed it. And get the reject email the second day. The hr is really helpful and nice. Sleep well before your interview get prepared.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Airbnb (San Francisco, CA)
Interview
Applied through contact. Got a call from recruiter next day and set up the phone interview. During the phone interview, I was given certain requirements and asked to code up a functionality. The interviewer specifically said he wanted me to run the code.
I explained my thought process and my approach but got no feedback from the interviewer. I went ahead and wrote the code, fixed all errors and ran it. I checked with the interviewer if he saw the output and asked him if he wanted me to walk him through it. I believe I solved it correctly but got no feedback. He just copied my code and said he'll check the output later. A day later I got the email that they don't think my background and qualifications match with the position and they have not decided to go ahead with the interview process.
What a waste of my time and what a terrible interview experience. I think some of the other folks on glassdoor have pointed out that Airbnb comes across as snobbish and the interviewers do not interact well. If that/s how they work in day to day life then I guess you are better off not working there,
