I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Airbnb in Oct 2015
Interview
I applied through my university and heard back about 2 weeks after the resume drop. I had an interview during a conference and it went okay. The interviewer I had was by far the best interviewer I've had the chance of interviewing with. She was very supportive and when I was stuck, I felt that I was eased through the problem.
I had another phone interview where the interviewer was nice, but not as accommodating when I had questions, but overall a good experience!
First I was contacted by the recruiter, who I found extremely kind and genuine. We corresponded over email to set up a technical interview. When I picked up my phone for the interview, the other side was very noisy, and the engineer on the phone didn't bother to greet or acknowledge who I am, and immediately started spelling out the problem to me. He had a heavy accent, which was difficult to understand on top of the distracting background noises. The problem he gave was also a complicated one, with conditions he did not describe very clearly even as I kept asking for clarifications. All in all, the interview itself did not go so well, but I took it as a learning experience.
