The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon in Apr 2010
Interview
It started with a Phone interview with the SDF controller, next was the Region Controller, Then Senior Financial manager, This was followed by an onsite at the SDF with the Controller, HR partner, Ops manager, and General manager. The most comphrensive discussion was with the General manager and Controller. They were great and would have been fun to work with. The General manager talked strategy and welcomed questions outside the financial box. Many times I was asked why I wanted the job and that they thought I was more than qualified. uiter who also stated concern with being over qualified. Later that day spoke with the Finance recruiter who also expressed concern that the position was not at the level I currently am at. I was told it was down to me and one other and that we would here early next week, it has been two weeks not a word. Guess #2. This was the 4th time HR did not follow thru, 1st was a phone interviewer that was a no show. When I called recruiting they said oh yeah he could not make it. 2nd was the recruiter who asked what days would work then scheduled on a day that I could not make it. 3rd the recruiter passed me off to another person without the dates and was again scheduled on dates I could not make work. Now no courtesy of a phone call. A bit disappointing. I would say the company is growing at a pace that is straining its ability to keep talent moving. I plan to give them a call next week if I do not hear from them.
