First things first, Amazon has one of the robust interview process. There were about 6 rounds of interview. Each interview lasted for about 1.5 hours. The recruiters were professional, to the point. They do not like beating around the bush. They want data points for everything. I got the offer letter 6 days from the day I attended my first round of interview.

Question 1
Did you face a situation where you had to fire an employee? If so, how did you handle it?
I applied in-person. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Amazon in Mar 2013
Interview
Interview process started 2 months ago with recruiter. That was followed up by emails which led to onsite interview. Started tour at 7 followed by four 45 min interviews. Very disappointed with first 2 interviewers as they were not nearly as experienced as I am in Logistics/Distribution and obviously didn't understand the significance of what I was describing to them.

None were difficult...I thought the entire process was easy. They're not looking for true leaders, they're looking for managers.
