I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Amazon (Bengaluru) in Jun 2018
Interview
Now, I have interviewed with Amazon for 3 times of which 2 were really good and the latest one was the worst.
Here's how it went each time
1. Senior TPM: I reached the BR and Hiring Manager round as I did really well in Product and the Technical rounds. However, due to my lack of experience with team management.
The interviewers were really good and well prepared.
Most of them were much more experienced than I was.
The feedback was a valid one. I was in love with the people there.
2. Solutions Architect: The hiring manager called me up and he was super experienced in the industry. He literally screwed me I actually enjoyed.
He asked me in detail about each and every concept.
I got to understand about all the concepts that I was not aware or where I need ot focus on.
3. Senior TPM: The first round was with a TPM who was more experienced than me by around 5 years. Clearly from his behavior I sensed a tone of hate, as to how can he come into this position.
Later we started talking about the projects, that I have done and tried to deep dive into everything, where he couldn't find anything to screw me.
So, he made up a question, for whose requirements, even he was not clear of and kept on changing the requirements from core without letting me change the architecture that was already in place which is kinda expected.
So I recommended a solution, (adding a DB that syncs across nodes). He completely rejected the idea, saying there is no purpose of the DB.
All in all post various discussions, he recommended that yeah, we should use a DB but but an in-memory one rather than a external one(which I had not clarified)
The complexity of the problem is quite deep, will stop over here.
At the end of the day, he rejected me on the basis of quite invalid reasons.
I even discussed the same problem with my other friends who work at Amazon, and all of them recommended the solution that I provided over the one by the intervierwer.
Even though, 66% of my Amazon interview experience has been positive, I would like to bring to notice of the Amazon recruitment team that such interviewers exist which lower the companies reputation.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Sunnyvale, CA) in May 2018
Interview
Recruiter screening - lot of information on how to prepare and Amazon leadership principles. Phone screening with “tell me a time when...” questions followed by a face to face interview. A writing excercise to be submitted a couple of days prior. Phone interviewer called 15 minutes late. Face to face, most interviewers ran so long that I did not get an opportunity to ask any questions!
