I applied online. I interviewed at Assurant (Miami, FL) in Feb 2014
Interview
I received a call from the recruiter to set up an interview with the hiring manager. I was unaware there would be a panel of two. One of them seemed uninterested during the interview. They asked very basic questions. One of the request was for me to sell them a pen.

Question 1
Tell us a little bit of what you did in your previous job?
I applied in-person. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Assurant (Duluth, GA) in Jun 2014
Interview
The interview process for my department was quite comforting. I was applying for an in-house position, and was already familiar with the department manager. I had already proven myself in the capacity of work that I was administered.
As I was interviewing with the department manager, it was not at all an intimidating experience. Based on my familiarity with the position I was applying for, the responses to the DM's questions came with ease. In fact, a large percentage of current Assurant employees apply for higher positions within the company after their probationary periods.

Question 1
Describe a time when you were faced with a difficult situation; what was the situation and how did you handle it?
I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Assurant (Kansas City, MO) in Sep 2015
Interview
Easy straight forward process. Applied online and contacted within a few days to schedule phone interview. Impressed that person calling had reviewed my qualifications and asked specific questions related to position applying for and not a standard list of questions. Friendly and informative with clear instructions for the next step in hiring process. A lot of companies leave you hanging with no next step expectations. I felt this was informative and not a waste of time by a large company looking to just weed out unqualified candidates.
