I apply on their website to work in Paris. CV + Motivation letter. Only a few days after I received an email asking if I would consider relocation as I'm not in France right now.
I confirmed, and after that we were exchanging emails regarding the range salary. They asked first. They told me my expectations were higher and asked me if I wanted to do the home task. All the communication was switching from Spanish to English.
After saying that I was totally ready to adjust my expectations, they sent me de home task with a 2 working days deadline. I delivered it on time and right after I received an invitation for the final interview: the day after no choice of time, just one option. I accepted.
I was really prepared as I've made a proper research of the company and I'm in the SEO field. Interview went very good with hiring manager and HR. Feedback during the interview regarding task: all is very good.
No weird moments, everything went awesome.
One week after, I sent the first follow up email, being thankful for the opportunity. No answer, so after 2 weeks I sent the second email. Automatic answer: out of office for the next 2 weeks. Was weird, but what was even worse is that after 30 min I received an automatic email from this person with a generic rejection that said "after evaluating your task".
For me wasn´t professional how they were rushing at the beginning and how the ghost me at the end.
I applied online. I interviewed at Better Collective in Jan 2026
Interview
Mixed experience overall. I was contacted quickly for an initial phone screen and then given an SEO test case. Although I was asked to focus purely on SEO strategy rather than content improvement, I was surprised to find that the source material contained substantial language and grammar issues and did not read like professionally written content.
Another part of the task was affected by strict regulatory constraints around advertising, which I raised during the final interview along with an alternative (though limited) approach. The discussion that followed suggested I could have simply disregarded these restrictions, which felt surprising for a company operating in an environment where legal compliance is essential.
It became clear during the conversation that my SEO experience wasn’t specialised enough for the role without on-the-job training, which I was open to. Despite being told I’d hear back within two days at the latest, the rejection came a week after the interview.
