Single practical coding exercise on test environment followed by discussion on job role and responsibilities. All remote, 2 months from application to interview, 1 week from interview to start date.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Booz Allen Hamilton (San Diego, CA) in Sep 2025
Interview
Quick. Initial contact was via email from a recruiter with a follow-up 30-minute phone call. I was a bit surprised that the ad listed the pay range was $69,300 to $158,000K, but the recruiter said it was $100K–$125K, far below my most recent pay.
With my availability, a team interview was scheduled within the week. I have decades of experience and was probably overqualified, so the interview went well. They actually were looking to fill one of two jobs. They asked which I'd prefer, then offered the other. The first offer was $125K. I countered with $145K. We settled on $140 and 40 hours PTO. I should have negotiated the PTO, though.
