I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Braze
Interview
A recruiter reached out and I interviewed for a SWE position, either I or II (which wasn't made clear).
After a basic screening call, I was set up for a technical interview with a SWE from the company. The interview question had multiple parts, and they asked you the next part after you cleared each one. I got completely stuck on the 3rd part and got a polite rejection email in a timely manner shortly after the interview.
I applied online. I interviewed at Braze in Nov 2019
Interview
They cancelled a phone call 30 minutes before it was schedule to take place. I don't mind companies cancelling interviews, since if there's no mutual interest, an interview is a waste of time. However, it is extremely unprofessional to do it at the last minute, since people might have actually had adjust their plans to work the call in (i.e. work from home, take 1/2 day off, etc).
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Braze in Aug 2019
Interview
They sent me a 1:30 HackerRank challenge (one month after I applied) which consisted of one easy and one medium difficulty problem from a no-reply email address. I completed the challenge and solved the first one and passed half of the test cases for the second one. The test environment was absolutely stupid in my opinion which made it impossible for me to debug.
A few days later I got a generic rejection message from another no-reply email.
