I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Cadence Design Systems in Jun 2016
Interview
Typical technical grill. Atypically hard technical questions. The interviewers had advanced degrees and 20+ years experience in the field. Everyone was very polite. Lunch was brought into the interview room, making the pressure relentless.
I applied online. I interviewed at Cadence Design Systems in May 2017
Interview
It was a full-day (9-5) interview, which was scheduled after a phone screening. In the first part of the day, the questions were a mix of algorithmic, coding, and problem-solving questions. However, several interviews that happened after lunch were nearly a complete waste of time. Interviewers were mostly unprepared. The hiring manager was extremely nosy about my personal situation (family, etc). After wasting so much of my time they did not bother to send me a formal rejection e-mail.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Questions on algorithmics, database design, and statistics.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Cadence Design Systems (Noida) in Aug 2012
Interview
4 rounds excluding HR discussion. 1st round on phone and 3 onsite. All of the interviewers were nice except for the last one. The last interviewer was rude and unprofessional. The last round of interview started with the statement that my resume is tailored and I don't know what I have written on my resume and this was somehow evaluated without having a word with me and the interviewer was shaking his head and shrugging every time even before I end up answering something. Communications from HR were slow and I had already made my decision before the offer was released.

Question 1
C++, Data structures, QT and software design. Average questions. They asked about finite automata and this was the only time when I said "I don't know the answer".
