I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Chipotle (Lake Havasu City, AZ) in Sep 2012
Interview
Saw an add on craigslist but was personally contact via cell phone because I knew the business was about to open, so I applied online. Started out with a huge group of people waiting inside the restaurant for open interviews, folks were interviewed two at a time. But sometimes both people were hired. No second interview, they called me that week with their decision and told me to come to the store for a week-end long training session.

Interview
I applied online and called in a couple of days later to see if they had looked at it yet. They hadn't but the Apprentice Manager told me to come in for an interview two days later. I interviewed with the Apprentice I had talked to on the phone for about half an hour. He asked me about myself, why I wanted to work at Chipotle, what I liked about the company, what kind of hours I was looking for, what experience I had, and how long I was planning to stay with the company. He also asked how much I wanted to be paid. After this interview I called a couple of days later and he told me to come in for a crew interview. I was very outgoing at the crew interview and asked questions about the job and how much they liked it/ how long they'd been there, etc. The General Manager told me I'd get an email within the next couple of days with paperwork to fill out online and that I'd gotten the job. I never got the email but came in with my two forms of ID and the GM sent the email that day. I started working the next week.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
There was nothing out of left field. Showing interest in the vision of Chipotle is important. They want to know that you value the same things they do.

Interview
I applied online and then got a call about a week later to come in for an interview. The online application was pretty straightforward. It asked basic questions like "What makes you a good candidate?" and "What are your hobbies". I went in for the interview at 10AM (an hour before opening time) and saw a couple of other people waiting outside of doors. It turned out to be a group interview with six others around my age. The general manager let us in and gave us a very detailed run down of the company. She told us about her own career in Chipotle, her expectations, what the work is like, etc... She really emphasized hiring from within, and the prospect of moving up in ranks. During her talk, she asked some questions, giving people a chance to say something and contribute. I didn't say much at all. We went around and introduced ourselves and our hobbies. And then took a tour of the back. After the tour she pulled people out for one on ones. In the one-on-one she asked me a few more questions. But I got the sense she already knew a lot about me and what I had to offer from the written application, the interview was just to get a sense of my personality. After just two or three questions she told me I was a good candidate and that she would like to hire me on the spot.
The general manager really knew what she was talking about and was really enthusiastic about her work. The interview process was really smooth, easy, and professional.
