I had a phone interview with the recruiter and discussed about moving to the next round for the role of "Head of UX."
A few days later, an interview was set up for "UX Manager" with the hiring manger. I asked the recruiter if it's a mistake, but got replied that "we would like to interview you for both roles - we have 2 roles currently open." There was no previous communication regarding the "UX Manager" role until I asked. As UX manager role is a level down from my current role, I expressed to her that I would only be interested in the Head role. 30 minutes later, she replied that they already filled the Head role and asked if I would like to cancel the interview - and of course, I said cancel it.
This recruiter is extremely unprofessional and need to improve her communication skills. Candidates should not be moved into other roles without communicated. It was a bad experience for me and I feel I was tricked into the process for a role I didn't apply for. It was a waste of my time.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Definity (Toronto, ON) in Jul 2020
Interview
Virtual Zoom Interview. Asked a variety of questions including situational then a written test assessment was required. Emailed the writing test and had one hour to complete it. Asked really detailed questions about work experience etc. other questions about how you would handle conflict at work. Overall, a difficult but good experience.
one phone interview with 2 actuaries. Basically just go through your resume.and expend questions based on your past experiences. Then wait for 2-3 weeks to get the interview results. very smooth process.
