Online Application & Resume Screening:
I submitted my application online, and after about 1–2 weeks, I was contacted by a recruiter for a phone screening.
Initial Phone Interview:
This was a 30-minute conversation with a recruiter. They asked about my background, experience with financial analysis tools like Excel or Tableau, and my interest in Deloitte. The tone was professional but friendly.
Technical Interview (Virtual or In-Person):
The next step was a technical round with a finance manager or senior analyst. I was asked to walk through a financial model, interpret financial statements, and solve a couple of hypothetical business scenarios. Questions focused on analytical thinking, understanding P&L, forecasting, variance analysis, and Excel proficiency.
Behavioral Interview (STAR-Based):
This round focused on soft skills and Deloitte's core values. I was asked questions like:
"Tell me about a time you worked on a team project under pressure."
"Describe a situation where you had to explain financial data to a non-financial audience."
Final Interview / Partner Round:
The last round was with a senior leader or partner. It focused more on my long-term goals, cultural fit, and how I align with Deloitte’s mission. This was more conversational, with some high-level questions about the future of finance and my career aspirations.
Offer & Background Check:
A few days later, I received a verbal offer followed by a formal written one. A background check was conducted before onboarding.

Question 1
How would you explain a complex financial analysis to someone without a finance background?
I applied through college or university. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Deloitte (Madrid) in Feb 2024
Interview
Hiring managers are pretty nice but with a strong focus on techniques and domain knowledge. They would talk about the experience you showed in your resume and ask detailed questions about that. So get prepared and be familiar with this stuff.
