Question 1
Strength/Weakness, learning moments, ability to work with a team
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Discover (Chicago, IL) in Oct 2020
Interview
Received a call for a phone screen about 2 months after I applied. Was then prompted to schedule interviews with senior employees at Discover working on the Data Science team. Questions are all behavioral. A lot of questions on how you work in a team so have a couple of experiences where you had worked in a team ready. Interviewers are interested in what you have to say and the interviews are conversational. Not too much emphasis on technical skills but they do ask about your experience so make sure you talk about your technical skills then. My interview took place during the pandemic so everything was done virtually. I believe interviews are normally conducted in-person at the headquarters in Chicago.
I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Discover in Oct 2019
Interview
It was very experience based and they asked many questions about previous languages used on projects done. There were some questions regarding technical terms, but they were very easy. Even if you've only taken a few entry level courses, but have a passion for learning, you will have a great experience.
