I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Epic (Madison, WI) in Nov 2019
Interview
The interviews took place over about half a day, and most of the day was spent with a group of prospective hires. We started with an overview of Epic and its main products. Then I had a technical interview in which I was asked to solve a problem. Following the interview, we attended a presentation about life in Madison, then ate lunch. After lunch, I had another technical interview where we talked about my experiences and projects. Finally, we toured the campus.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The technical interview regarding my skill, experiences, and projects was very open-ended. I was given an opportunity to say anything about myself. Once I concluded, the interviewer asked clarifying questions regarding things like my workflow, my approach to solving problems, and any flaws I could see in my projects.
I applied through college or university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Epic in Apr 2018
Interview
The first interview was nice and comfortable. The person that I spoke to asked some HR questions and informational questions about my skills. It was more behavioral than technical. The second part of the interview process (the skills assessment test) was the worst. The assessment consisted of three parts. The first part required you to answer 10 math questions in two minutes. The second part you had to answer some questions about a made-up programming language. The third part had four programming questions where you had to write a function answering the question. For this part, there was no compiler to check to see if your code worked. The programming questions were not easy at all and not well-known situations. Overall, I think the skills assessment test was extremely difficult for an entry-level position and not a true test of actual someone's skills.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Epic in Oct 2017
Interview
I had a phone interview with Epic and it was very pleasant. After the phone interview, I was asked to complete 4 timed assessments. The assessments ranged in difficulty, but overall I would say it was rather difficult.
