I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Epic in Jul 2012
Interview
The interview process is pretty much as everyone describes. Based on my professional experience, Epic has one of the longest hiring practices for a private organization, probably over a month total. However, if you have nothing to lose, it should not be a problem. I applied online, a week later I got the simplest ever phone interview for a job. The recruiter asked me exactly the same information that is already on my resume, but the main reason for a phone interview, on my personal opinion, it is to guess the applicant's age, that is it.
I did well on the phone interview and they sent me to take a test, math/logic questions (easy) and long programming set of question (complicated) designed for IT people. At this point, I was already 3 or 4 weeks in the application process, again nothing to lose, but I kept applying for other jobs and having interviews with other companies. I sent a message to the recruiter telling that I was considering other opportunities and thanks for everything.
I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Epic in Jul 2012
Interview
- Applied online through company's website.
- Completed the Rembrandt profile the next day.
- Had a phone interview a week later: talked with a TS employee who verified information on resume and asked general questions.
- Got invited to interview on-site a week later, which was scheduled for the week after.
- Flew out to Madison and stayed at the Concourse the day before the interview and had dinner with other candidates and current Epic employee.
- During day of interview, it consisted of a tour, software demo, lunch, 1-on-1 interview with TS employee (prioritize various scenarios and situations), an interview with an HR rep (behavioral questions), and finished up the day with some testing.
Been waiting two weeks for them to call/email me with a decision.

Interview
Saw their booth at a job fair and talked to them a little. I then received an email about a week later about doing a phone interview. It was pretty straightforward and they asked why I wanted to work at Epic and what experience I've had that would prepare me for the position. Most of the time was the representative telling me about the position and the pay and expected travel. A few days later I was asked to take a math and programming test. It is a hard test to prepare for since it's mostly logic puzzles that you have to quickly answer and type the answer in (not multiple choice). The programming was simple and just built upon a set of rules that you were told. Still in the process so I'm not sure how I did, I took the test a week ago.
