I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Epic (Madison, WI) in May 2010
Interview
Communication was by telephone and email. Took a personality test within three days of applying for job. Their HR department asked me to take it again. It seemed like the recruiter and the staff did not communicate status of individuals in the process. Phone interview was scheduled. Had phone interview with recruiter. They reviewed my resume thoroughly and were very candid about goals for the position, reasons why they were hiring externally and company culture. There is a lot of growth expected by the firm in the software market to the medical industry. Finished interview on positive note. Interviewer expected to give update in about seven days of the decision by the company. Waited seven days and no notice. Called on day eight and got interviewer's voice mail. Asked for notice of the results in message. Got notice they selected other candidate. Almost appeared that they used me to justify their preselected candidate and meet the interviewing requirements of the position. I do not believe they had any honest intention to hire me because of age and location, just wanted to expand field to justify the decision already made. Interviewer / Recruiter was, in my opinion, just manipulative.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What reason would you want to relocate to Madison Wisconsin since you are on the east coast?
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Epic in Nov 2009
Interview
I was initially contacted by hr. They set up a phone interview which consisted of a sales pitch to come work for the company and some basic situational questions. Then a web based personality test. Next was a written programming test mailed to a nearby library. About a week later, I was invited to fly to Madison for an onsite interview. There were about 30 other people interviewing the same day. The campus was pretty. The onsite interview consisted of a tour of the campus, a 1 on 1 interview, and some more written tests.

Question 1
General logic/problem solving questions similar to what you read about other big companies asking in interviews.
The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Epic in Mar 2010
Interview
I had an interview on campus and then they had me take a personality test. I had the phone interview and that was it. Over all I thought the process was typical. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? What do you look for in a company? Standard Questions.
