I applied online. I interviewed at Epic (Garden Grove, CA)
Interview
Screening phone call interview helped me gain a better understanding of the company workspace, routine, and culture. I was asked to explain a couple of my past projects in more detail.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Briefly tell me about yourself. They also asked what questions I had for them.
Uses proctoring services to administer what appears to be an exam, as if a college education or my experience is not enough to test my ability to solve problems. Lengthy assessment that took about three hours. Seriously, how is this even legal? Nevertheless, in spite of having to be recorded during the whole thing, and getting potentially nothing out of it, as I feared, I followed all instructions, and solved problems as they requested. Met the team. Then after all this, rejected. Unprofessional waste of candidates' time. Very disappointing experience.
Epic has a phone screen, ~2 hour custom assessment with the same questions you can find on here that don't change + an old programming logic test you can find online (it isn't M), and then 1-2 more rounds. It's not generally a great experience and the company has semi-eugenic or maybe, discriminatory is a better word, beliefs about hiring and people in general.
