Interview
First you apply online and take a 100+ question job questionnaire. Then the District Training Manager gave me a call for the phone screen (phone interview). Things went well and we set up an in person interview time for a few days later. Interview/tour the property with the District Training Manager, things went well so I was set up with an in person interview with the District Manager a week later. The following week I spent 45 minutes in my interview with the District Manager and I was told they would call me if I was selected since they had more interviews to conduct. The District Manager called me the next day and offered me the position. Then I had to submit background information and also take a drug test. About a week after my interview with the DM, my background info and drug test came back good. HR called me and congratulated me and said that my DM will get in touch with me to set up my start date. The next day I got a call from the District Manager and set up my first day of work for the following Monday. DTM and DM were both extremely nice, very detailed, and communicated great throughout the whole interview process.

Interview
Called for a phone interview by a recruiter. Had an in-person interview with same recruiter. A week later, sat down for 8 minutes with the 'store manager'. Not sure what this company is looking for in an entry level candidate if veteran status and 17 years of customer service (12+ in management) and 3 IT certifications isn't enough to get the job. Makes one wonder...
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Extra Space Storage (Salt Lake City, UT) in Feb 2019
Interview
Initial phone screen, followed by a host of in person interviews the following week.
I was disappointed in the next stage due to the fact the hiring manager stated she had concerns about my response time. I was a passive candidate and had other obligations to attend to (2 days pretty good considering). Good things come to those who wait. In a employee market it’s important to change from old employer market practices to one where an employer must court a candidate if they want high quality.
