I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at GE (Erie, PA) in May 2011
Interview
Four separate 1-on-1, hour long interviews.
As an intern I applied for the Edison Program. In all honesty the interview felt like a formality. It was heavy on behavioral questions and very light on technical ones. It almost felt like a show and tell (without the show).
After getting a feel for what I'd be like to work with, the interviewers wanted to know if I had any questions for them. I asked about what they did on a day to day basis and showed a genuine interest in their responses.
It was very laid back.
I met the recruiters/managers at an info session. They seemed interested in my CV and called me a couple of days after for an interview. I had an interview with both the Edison manager and the project manager coordinator. The interview was somewhat technical but mostly focused in why I was the one person to take this position.
