I applied through college or university. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Groupon (Chicago, IL) in Feb 2016
Interview
I applied through my college's career fair and got a call for on campus interview really soon. My first round was with a software engineer where we worked through the code of a tic tac toe game. It lasted for half an hour and went pretty well. The next round was immediately after with a data scientist who was very biased. The questions weren't informative enough and he wasn't interested in anything that I had to say.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at Groupon (Chicago, IL) in Oct 2014
Interview
They came to my school for an initial interview. Later I had 4 interviews with different managers and employees. It was the most difficult interview I have had. They asked me things that nobody else had asked (even Google and Apple). I turned down Apple for Groupon because I knew that I would have more say and would be exposed to more of the company, not pigeonholed in one tiny part of the business.
The interview process was very rigorous and they take hiring pretty seriously.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Groupon (Ipoh) in Apr 2015
Interview
Applied for the internship and get interview application the next day. Interview at the week after. HR asked for a face to face interview at KL Office but I requested for a Skype interview since I just had an accident and confined in wheelchair.
The interviewee was friendly, do not feel stress at all but I should have performed better.
