HarperCollins interview questions

Applied online. Received a phone call a week or so later from HR that ended up being an unscheduled interview, was then contacted several days later to schedule a skype interview with the creative director of the children's department. The skype interview was very informal compared to the phone interview; we chatted a little about my resume and then the director talked about the position and showed me some books the department had done. Was told I'd hear back by the end of the week, and was contacted the next week to be told they'd gone with a different candidate.

Both interviewers were friendly and the interview felt fairly relaxed and laid back. However, I was never contacted with regards to the outcome of the interview, despite emailing them several times.
