Interview
I am sharing my experience of the Infosys Company interview. I was in my 7th semester of an engineering degree at a VTU college. Our institution provided great support for placements and preparation during those days. I had started preparing for placements, focusing on both technical and aptitude rounds. I cleared the first round, which included aptitude and some technical questions. Then, I was waiting for the technical interview round.
It was during the time of our second internal assessment, where we had two exams scheduled per day—one in the morning and one in the afternoon. I was busy preparing for these internal tests when I checked my email and saw that I had been selected for the next round of interviews with Infosys Company. Unfortunately, the interview was scheduled at 10 AM on the same day as my internal assessments.
I had no choice but to choose between the internals and the interview. My morning internal test was scheduled from 9 AM to 10:30 AM, so I initially thought I wouldn't be able to attend the interview since I'd be writing the test at that time. I was losing hope about the online interview, but I wanted to take it.
A friend suggested, try to finish the internal test in 45 minutes and attend the interview before it gets started. I decided to follow this advice and managed to complete the test by 9:45 AM. I rushed from the college to one of the rooms and sat down for the interview in a hurry. But, I was delayed by 5 to 6 minutes, and the interviewer was waiting for me.
I was panicking but also trying to boost my self-confidence, which is crucial during interviews. When the interviewer asked me to switch on the front camera, I was expecting the first question to be about why I was late. I kept repeating my answer in my mind, explaining that I had a test to write. However, to my relief, the interviewer was cool and started with a simple question: "Introduce yourself."
