Interview
I interviewed at ICE for the position of Market Data Analyst approximately 2.5 months ago. The interview took place at their office, where I spoke with the hiring manager. It was a fairly standard interview — they explained what the role entails and what is expected from an analyst. Based on that conversation, I felt that I met the key criteria for the position.
The interview itself was not technical and did not include any assessment of my skills. It went well overall, and I was expecting the next step to be a SQL test. However, no further steps followed.
What’s more disappointing is that, even after 2.5 months, I have not received any update about the outcome of my interview.
Another frustrating aspect is that the HR department is based in London, and unfortunately, there’s no way to contact them by phone or messaging apps such as WhatsApp. The only option is to email — and I had the “honor” of sending four separate emails, none of which were ever answered.
ICE presents itself as a long-established and reputable company — is it really not possible to set up a basic automatic response system to notify candidates who are not moving forward?
This was already my second experience interviewing with ICE, and just like the first time, I received no follow-up and no replies to my emails.
I also want to mention that a friend of mine interviewed for the exact same position — and just like me, she never received any feedback or update from the company.
Honestly, if this is how their HR team operates, perhaps it's for the best that I wasn’t hired. It raises concerns about communication and internal processes more broadly.

Interview
After the initial phone screen I had a relatively quick 45 minute phone interview with the QA Manager. After this I had a ridiculously long 3 hour in person meeting with 8 different people. I had to request time off of my current job to do so and after everything was said and done I was passed over due to poor scoring on a SQL assessment.
Overall it felt like a huge commitment for nothing in the end. Do not waste your time with this company.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Various technical questions around Linux and SQL (for a manual QA role) general QA process questions.
Phone interview that was heavily technical. This was followed by another technical interview over zoom and a less technical final interview over zoom. Very professional throughout the entire process while recognizing this is a difficult job and appropriately difficult interview process.
