I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at KBR (Leatherhead, England) in Feb 2020
Interview
Assessment centre consisted of:
- Spatial awareness test (completed before assessment day) by SHL
- Introduction to KBR by managers/engineers
- Presentations to assessment centre students and staff on your greatest achievement (pre-prepared)
- Group activity (how to increase the sustainability of the KBR office)
- Technical interview (general quizzing about what's on your CV, no specific technical questions were asked of me)
- HR interview (typical HR questions - motivations, reasons for applying etc.)
- Numerical and literacy tests (again by SHL)
- Hand-written paragraph of why you want to work for KBR
General Comments:
Decent assessment centre overall, the person who did my HR interview spoke very quietly, making it difficult to understand what she was saying sometimes.
General demeanour of the assessment staff was somewhat cold, with one of the presentation assessors being unnecessarily critical and brutal to one of the candidates whilst they were giving their presentation, over their use of the word 'we' instead of 'I'.
If you attend the assessment day and fund your travel to the office, do not expect to receive your expenses back with any urgency. I attended in February 2020 and as of June 2020 am still waiting to receive my expenses back. I contacted the HR representative several times and still did not receive a response.
Overall, a decent assessment day with fun and interesting tasks, perhaps let down slightly by the demeanour of the staff that run the day.
P.S. The food was great (croissants and coffee on arrival) and some very tasty wraps/sandwiches at lunch. I guess this makes up for the expenses...
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What resources do you use to keep up to date with developments in the industry?
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at KBR
Interview
Had a online interview with the technical area lead (TAL), and a current flight controller. They were both very nice and helpful in explaining the position details more. They mentioned that they usually have like a two stage interview process, but because of quarantine it was being done all in one interview. Took about 45 minutes.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Overall the questions were pretty standard. But there were a few I hadn't heard of at the moment. Some were:
1. Describe a project that you worked on that had multiple groups of people working on the same objective.
2. What experiences have you had working with people of different nationalities and races? Specifically international students or coworkers.
Besides that, the questions were pretty standard behavioral questions.
I applied through college or university. I interviewed at KBR (Chennai) in Apr 2019
Interview
It was a bit tough ,they asked everything you probably might be studying in your 3rd and 4th year. It all revolves around the technical aspects and you might also want to be strong at aptitude and softskills.
