The process began with an online assessment, followed by a video interview and a final technical interview. After completing the technical round, I, along with several other candidates, was told we had been shortlisted. Given the stage of the process, we reasonably expected this final meeting to cover salary negotiations or onboarding.
Instead, the company required all 'shortlisted' candidates to attend a physical interview for 15 minutes each during their Career Day. After waiting an entire day, many of us were told in person that we were not selected.
There was no reason to require a physical appearance for a 15-minute rejection. A simple email would have allowed us to focus on other interviews and opportunities. Labeling a candidate as 'shortlisted' after a final technical round, only to use a physical meeting for a mass rejection, is deceptive.
