I applied online. I interviewed at LinkedIn (Remote, OR) in Jan 2018
Interview
Got a message on LinkedIn by a LinkedIn Recruiter for the position that I had applied to. He mentioned that this position requires Ph.D. in Machine Learning and I am an MS graduate with specialization in Data Science and Intelligent Systems. So, I explained how I can be a best fit and have the skills required for the job and he was conviced. The technical interview was scheduled for an hour and the interviewer seemed okay while talking about the team and job resonsibilities. Then we move to the Coding part, asked me to implement an ML algorithm. Implementation was good. The bad part comes here, the interviewer was silent the whole coding time, didnt seem like interested at the code at all. Didnt ask any questions related to my implementation. And then in 3 days, I receive an email saying that we are not moving forward with your application.
What am I supposed to even learn from this interview?
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at LinkedIn
Interview
Had a phone call with the recruiter and talked about the role and work. Scheduled a phone screen. Expect to write ML algo code in 45 minutes for a d-dimensional array. Partial solution is not accepted. To sum up it was a bad experience because there are no checks & balances for the interviewers. Feedback to the company is not welcome.
I applied through other source. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at LinkedIn (San Francisco, CA) in Nov 2017
Interview
I was contacted by a recruiter, had an initial call, and then moved on to the technical phone screen. Technical phone screen was pretty much what I expected from glassdoor. I was given the impression that LinkedIn likes to asks multiple questions on the phone screen (and thus won't likely ask anything above uncommon leetcode mediums), and only practiced easy/medium questions that appeared at high frequency. This paid off, as all the algorithms questions I was asked were all on leetcode (and asked in the exact same way as leetcode) and were all high frequency question. In the end, I had to turn down the request for an onsite interview because I had accepted an offer elsewhere.
