I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Macmillan (New York, NY) in Jan 2023
Interview
Had two different interviews. The first was online and was a basic intro interview where we discussed my resume, some of the applications I have used in the past, and what I believe I can bring to the table. The second was in person. I met with the Hiring Manager and a member of the HR recruiting team. It was a really nice conversation and I was hopeful it would lead to an offer.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me a little bit about your work/life schedule: How well do you think you balance it?
A short phone screening followed by a meeting with the hiring manager. Definitely know the books the company publishes and write a good cover letter about why you're interested in the industry.
Phone interview with future supervisor discussing experience and interest in publishing as a career. Relatively easy questions, talked about writing and design experience. Got a phone call with an offer a few weeks later.
Had two interviews - met with the hiring manager then another person on the team. These were easy questions and a good experience overall! Heard back for an interview exactly a month after applying.
