I recently interviewed for two marketing roles with Mars over the past few months. The first interview was a phone screen, during which the recruiter inquired about my current compensation but failed to provide the compensation range for the role, raising concerns. After a two-week wait, I was informed that another candidate had been chosen, only to later discover that an internal candidate was actually promoted to the position. From a recruiting standpoint, this experience was subpar, as it would have been preferable not to engage external candidates in interviews when there was already an internal promotion plan. In the second interview, I was asked to submit a video interview for a corporate role. This approach struck me as unusual from a candidate experience standpoint, as it seemed like there was little interest from the company in direct engagement with me. Additionally, there was no interaction with a recruiter, leading me to decide not to pursue the opportunity further.
