I applied in-person. The process took 6 days. I interviewed at Massage Envy (Orlando, FL) in Mar 2012
Interview
I had my first interview over the phone. We spoke briefly about why I was looking for a new job and she reviewed my resume. She called me a few days later and scheduled an in person interview.
The first in person interview was easy and more just looking for if I fit with the culture. She asked how I worked in a team atmosphere but overall just questions about me. At the end of the interview she gave me a script and told me to memorize it before coming in for my next interview.
The second interview was more intense, they were looking for me to role play the sales script verbatim. I dont do well with scripts or memorization but still was able to be convincing enough for the job.
I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Massage Envy (Newtown, PA) in Jul 2016
Interview
There were two parts to my interview: verbal and then practical. During our conversation there were so many pauses when the manager just stared at me and expected me to say something. That was soo awkward and I felt very uncomfortable. There were no clients at all and just one other esthetician which was kind of weird. So we spent like 45 minutes talking, then she showed me the whole salon, every single room, where they do laundry, etc. That was so unnecessary, you can do that any other time. The practical was awful. She gave me like a thousand bottles with different products and expected me to know how each works. After the facial, she said that she really liked how I did it and that my hand/arm massage was great. She said that she wants me to come for the second practical with her boss. Never got a call back and actually happy about that because I would never go back to that salon.

Interview
It was a pretty informal interview. People kept walking in and out of the office during the interview..very disruptive. An employee made rude comments toward me because of one of my answers to an interview question. That is what turned me off from the job. Most of the questions were typical and related to the job...except for one question that was strange, "what would your theme song be if you walked into a room?"
