Interview
The interviews went good. I was pretty nervous because this was my first interview. Hiring manager was friendly and interview was was comfortable. The pay isn't great and have not heard great things about working for the company.
I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Massage Envy (Raleigh, NC) in Nov 2017
Interview
This is one of the most AWKWARD and UNCOMFORTABLE interviews I have ever been to. I applied online and received an interview a couple days later at their store location. First off it was very informal and placed in a massage room not an office space which threw me off as unprofessional. Half-way through we had to relocate to another room because it was needed for a expecting client. This gave clear indicators how unorganized they were already. All of it gave me a terrible impression. Then, the older gentlemen started talking about the business and create an experience for clients and casually brought up Victoria's Secret and used it as example. He said, " Now imagine a young pretty lady like yourself wants to go to Victoria's Secret for an outfit". Why would you ever think it's appropriate to bring up a lingerie store and my looks during an interview? It totally made me feel uncomfortable. That wasn't even the end of it! As we moved to the front desk for me to meet his other employees, he casually touched my shoulder. It wasn't a big deal maybe as a massage place it's very "touchy- feely". However it could be conceived so wrongly as an older male boss making physical contact with a potential young female candidate. There's no need for anything outside of a handshake. The last and final strike for me was while meeting his staff, the front desk lead introduced herself and the first question out of her mouth was about my age. My immediate response was, “You can’t ask that in a interview”. She was not management and hadn’t been trained properly. I left feeling disturbed about the whole experience. If these incidents were indicators of the business, I would never work there. That’s one of the failure of a franchise is owners reflecting poorly on the whole corporation. I hope that other locations conduct their business and interview process with much better structure and professionalism.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How does your past experience qualify you for the positions?
I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Massage Envy (Tulsa, OK) in Oct 2016
Interview
I did not have a normal interview, I got the job because of family. However, normally the interview process takes about 2 weeks. With two interviews, one with Clinic Admin and then a group interview. If you get the job offer you will have to complete online courses that takes about 2-3 8/hr days to complete.
