The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Meraki in Oct 2011
Interview
I had a couple brief calls that were very rushed with their sales leadership. The person i would have reported to was moving around a lot on a cell phone and seemed very distracted. Both people I spoke to were appeared very rushed on the calls and I was not comfortable with their lack of preparation and interest levels in having the calls. I did not get the warm fuzzies, so I decided to move on.
The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Meraki (Atlanta, GA) in Oct 2011
Interview
I wish this company luck, but as for their lack of professionalism, I would be cautious as management (the one I had an opportunity to speak with) is unprofessional, disrespectful and used deragatory terms in his coorespondance with me.
Meraki has a great solution, but their hiring process would not make me want to represent their brand.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Meraki (San Francisco, CA) in Oct 2011
Interview
I did an initial phone interview. During my call I was asked about my background at my previous positions, and the questions focused heavily on my sales process at those roles (how did I acquire my prospects/leads? how long was my sales cycle and close rate?). I was also asked what I knew about the company and he mentioned one product of theirs in particular but can't recall which.
After the interview, I was contacted by the recruiter who arranged the interview to discuss how things went. I was pretty disappointed by what I found. The person I interviewed with completely misrepresented me to my recruiter. He told my recruiter I told him I was fired (I was laid-off and given a rave review by both the president of the company and my VP of Sales on LinkedIn). He said I had no clue what they sold (upon replying to this question his answer was, "Yes, you're exactly right.") and he said some other minor things which were also untrue. I was shocked and wondered if he had the wrong person in mind when he talked to my recruiter. In any case I decided that this wasn't the type of company I'd want to work for anyway. I got the sense that the person interviewing me got into his role as a sales manager by being a great sales rep and a lot of companies don't understand that a great sales rep doesn't necessarily translate into a great sales manager.
