      Premier Field Engineer Interview

      Nov 30, 2016
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Reading, Inglaterra
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Microsoft (Reading, Inglaterra) in Nov 2015

      Interview

The interview process started with an initial screening by a recruiter who then put me in touch with a member of the existing team for the telephone interview this lasted around 30/45 minutes and had questions but was very much a flowing conversation as well, mostly based around the technology I was applying for. Waited about 2 days for feedback to proceed onto the next stage. The second was a Skype Video interview with the line manager of the team who basically gave their vision for the person he was going to hire and some more professional based questions in terms of how I would conduct myself in certain situations rather than wanting to know technical it was to ensure I understood the commercials of presenting myself as a PFE. You then receive a pack of information including a case study and an agenda of your assessment day (should your feedback be good that is) this takes about 2 days again to hear about. Third part was the hardest, initially a tech grilling session with a Senior PFE in the team for the 1st hour, 2nd hour was a presentation with 2 PFEs in the same team (they pre-warn you they are going to act like the most awkward customer in the world and they truly are!), then you have about 20 minutes just with your line manager just like any normal interview with a line manager and then it moves into a panel interview which mine had a PM and the other manager in a mirror team. Overall it was difficult but amazing while I didn't get the job the feedback that I got was excellent and has really helped me focus on what I need to be doing to ensure I get the job next time, very detailed got about 5 page PDF of all the feedback notes throughout the process.

      Premier Field Engineer Interview

      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Microsoft (Charlotte, NC) in Dec 2019

      Interview

The whole process was very smooth! Started off with a 30 minute phone screen with a recruiter. You must be ready to talk about your reason for Microsoft, also be ready to break down technical terms into simplistic explanations. Should they decide to move forward, you would be invited for an onsite interview. The onsite consists of 3 very subjective interviews where you would be making a 10 minute presentation of any topic of your choice in one of the interviews. The reason I said the interviews are subjective is because I was expecting behavioral interviews but my first interview was fully technical. I also had to whiteboard (pseudocode however). I was tested on what was on my resume so be fully prepared to defend your resume in its entirety. My second interview was where I did my presentation. My advice for a topic is one in which you can demonstrate technical knowledge and passion simultaneously. I knew my interviewer enjoyed the presentation and the rest of the interview was very smooth. My third interview was a case study style. A lot of scenarios of working with clients and having to resolve issues. Tip: Utilize the whiteboard and show structured thinking in however you come up with an answer/recommendation.

      Premier Field Engineer Interview

      Feb 1, 2023
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Milão
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Microsoft (Milão) in Dec 2019

      Interview

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Domande palesemente difficili al fine di non proseguire con il colloquio. Cercavano qualcuno privo di vita personale da mandare in lungo e in largo per l'europa a vendere prodotti mascherandoli per interventi tecnici.
