I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Netflix in May 2025
Interview
I first had a call with the recruiter who then moved me to the HM round. I had a great chat with HM and was moved to technical screen round. I did well enough to be considered for the first onsite which had 4 rounds. I was then passed to final stage which was another 2 rounds. The questions were well thought out and asked in rapid fire procession. Every detail was asked about, including follow ups. Very thorough. I received an offer a few days later, however it was much less than advertised and than what I was making which is surprising because they used to have a reputation for top of market which they still say. They stated they don't negotiate. After relaying this to the recruiter, to my surprise, they countered up significantly a few days later and I accepted. Excited to see they value candidates.

Question 1
behavioral, deep dive projects, system design, take home assignment, value fit
I gave interview for L5 position. First, recruiter screening. Next, I has coding assessment with a team member from the team that was hiring. It was a medium level difficulty question. Very vague question and you need to ask many questions to clarify the requirements. Its important to code fast as they have follow up questions.

Implement content manager system with CRUD operations.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Netflix in Jun 2024
Interview
Unnecessarily long and convoluted interview process. This company doesn’t know who it wants to hire so it wastes candidates time. Starts with an intensive recruiter screen who acts as if they are the hiring manager, then a screen with an engineer on the team part behavioral, part unexpected pop quiz. Then a lengthy take home assignment that will consume your entire weekend to complete. Then 5 rounds of onsite interviews assessed by egotistical narcissists that are part of the Netflix cult. They will nitpick the minutiae of the detail in the interview to find reasons to reject: didn’t work on “complex” enough projects, syntax wasn’t perfect, etc. The interviewer was unfamiliar with the technologies I used in the system design interview and used that insecurity to doubt my design. If I passed that portion of onsite interviews there would be another round of onsite. Complete insanity. Will never interview with this company again.
