The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Niantic in Jan 2022
Interview
I had a not so great interview. The interviewer spent the majority of the time telling me that I was wrong and that it takes a certain kind of person to handle the toxicity in the Pokemon Go community, which felt like he was implying that I wouldn't be able to handle it, which was odd because I told him multiple times that I was an active player and a part of the community already. Overall, I left knowing this wasn't for me and I didn't want to work somewhere that spoke about their community in that way.

Question 1
Really easy questions. The only thing that was hard was trying to answer him while his teams chat was constantly going off.
I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Niantic (Londres, Inglaterra) in Jan 2022

There are 5 interviews: 3 technical interviews (general machine learning knowledge, coding, paper reading) with different researchers, each lasting 60 minutes, 2 interviews to align the research interests and define the research projects.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Niantic in Feb 2022
Interview
Honestly was excited for the role but very disappointed with the process. I was contacted via LinkedIn to apply by the internal recruiter, but they cancelled two calls with me only hours before they were meant to take place, then ghosted me after I gave several options for my availability. I had to follow up and gave them an out: I asked if they could just let me know if they were no longer interested and I got a reply the same day saying that the role was now in the final interview stages with someone else. Very disappointing to have missed the opportunity through no fault of my own, especially so considering they were the ones to approach me in the first instance.
