I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Niantic (Palo Alto, CA)
Interview
Phone interview, then video interview with multiple people, and video interview with a recruiter who was so rude!! First time she just skipped the interview at last minute. Then when we did the interview, she kept talking like if no one ever talked to her for 10 years and never stopped. For the interview I only got the chance to spoke for 1 or 2 sentences. How ridiculous!!! And every time I tried to speak she interrupted me and just kept talking. I literally doubt if she was discriminating me. Otherwise why wouldn’t she ask me questions but instead just kept talking??? Is this an interview for me or her?🙄️

Question 1
No question. She talked bunch of useless things by herself. I wonder if she is getting schizophrenia or sth.
Brief call with recruiter. Call with hiring manager who seemed a bit unprofessional. Onsite with 4 others which felt overly rushed and the interviewers didn't feel engaging and quite frankly, looked bored to me. I take that as a red flag sign that they are disconnected and not the most motivated personalities.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Niantic (Bellevue, WA)
Interview
Beware, the recruiter of this company bait and switch.
My recruiter repeatedly asked me about my expected salary, on the phone and in emails. And I made my expectations very clear at least 3 times.
The recruiter gave a much much lower offer at offer stage. Lower than my current salary.
The recruiter said this position can't pay what I asked for, they knew they couldn't pay my expected salary all along.
They made me to like the company a lot throughout the interview process but I lost my trust in Niantic and immediately rejected their offer. If they lie before you join, what else would they do if you work there?
The entire process consist of one phone screen, one onsite with two rounds of technical interviews and chat with current employees, and a round of executive phone screen.
I wasted huge amount of personal time and vacation time on this company.

Question 1
NDA.
The technical interviews we're fun and challenging. Engineers we're friendly and professional. I very much enjoyed the interviewers. What a shame they had bad HR practices.
