I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Okta
Interview
The recruiter asked about the projects and things on the resume and why you wanted to work at the company, where you see yourself in 5 years, followed by a simple coding question

Question 1
Given an array of numbers that ascends, then descends at a certain point, find the maximum number
The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Okta in Apr 2017
Interview
Oktas interview process was one of the smoothest that I have seen thus far. The recruiter was very responsive and accommodative. I had a phone screening with the recruiter first where she asked me some basic Java related questions. I spoke later to a senior engineer who gave me a coding question on coderpad to find the nth largest element in a list. I was then called onsite to their SF office for a day long session with around 10 interviewers. Most interviews had shadow interviewers as well, so I had about 7 interviews onsite. The recruiter promptly called me on the next day to inform that my skill set did not exactly match their requirements.

Question 1
Design a system that keeps two large data sets in sync
I applied online. I interviewed at Okta (San Jose, CA) in Oct 2017
Interview
Recruiter had a quick phone call to determine fit, then arrange a phone screen to be followed by on-site interview.
The whole setup for phone screen has nothing to do with finding the advertised Senior/Staff/Principal position since all the questions were all basic type questions. The interviewer gave decision based on code syntax details rather than understanding of core logic or allowing for concept and implementation pros and cons discussion, which is more fitting for Staff/Principal position. If you just need a senior coder, advertise accordingly.
