I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Okta (Seattle, WA) in Jul 2020
Interview
Simple interview process. They need to standardize process. As of now it’s very adhoc. I couldn’t get much information about role. Strongly recommend for freshers not much exciting opportunity for experienced folks.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Okta (Toronto, ON) in Jun 2020
Interview
Incredibly poor interview process mainly due to the recruiter.
Reached out to me for a technical interview on Zoom with the hiring manager unfortunately was not available that week and had provided times for the following week. We had decided for a Friday afternoon but got no email or invitation for the interview on that day.
The recruiter in question was extremely bad in communication, so bad that we have yet to schedule an interview. Even after providing dates and times of my availability it felt like he had no respect for my schedule and availability. I can understand recruiters can be busy but scheduling interviews between candidates and managers/teams is basic recruiter 101.

Interview
Absolutely the worst interview experience I've had in my 10 years professional career. Mainly because of the recruiter of the company. Just to list a few things that happened:
- extremely bad at communication, I had to personally chase down couple emails/linkedin messages to get the exact detail of my own interview.
- After the first phone technical interview, I again heard nothing for couple days, after I chased the person on linkedin again, he told me I didn't pass. However after a couple hours, he then messaged me again saying he's mistakened it, and I did pass. Told me to wait for instructions for next round.
- It has been 3 weeks since and still no updates whatsoever on the next round. They've got my schedules couple times and each time there's no reply after that.
- At this point I just pretty much gave up and assumed they don't want me that much.
