I was contacted by a recruiter who found me on LinkedIn who asked if I was interested in applying for this role. I went ahead and sent over my portfolio and resume and submitted an application online. The recruiter first scheduled the interview at the exact time I said I was not available and then also never sent me the invite link. I was expecting to learn more about the role, seeing as this recruiter had contacted me, but instead was answering behavior questions for her. After explicitly saying I had done something her next question was to give her specific examples of the exact thing I had just said I hadn't done. She wasn't even listening to me.
I then moved on to two interviews with folks on the team, but not the hiring manager. BOTH interviews started with them asking who I even was and where in the interview process I was. They said that my interview just popped up on the calendar and they had no visibility into where I was in the hiring process or who I had talked to.
I received an email that both of those interviewers had given positive feedback so they wanted me to do their internal leadership assessment. I spent several hours completing this and then heard nothing. When I reached out for an update I was given a curt response that they went with an internal candidate with no acknowledgement to the hours of time and effort I had put into this process - when they approached ME.
Really terrible experience, and I honestly feel like I was just used.
