I am semi-retired but have a gym rat for over 35 years. I am also a certified personal trainer and in great shape. I applied for this job which I thought would be a great transition. There were 3 openings. I FINALLY got an in-person interview and I thought it went well. The manager stated that he would let me know in a few days whether or not I got the job but based on the interview and my credentials, plus the fact that I was okay with the minimal pay - it was not about money - that I had the job. Over a week went by and I was ghosted. End of week I went to the gym and saw a new face (I am a regular there). It was a kid who looked like he had never seen the inside of a gym before.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Would I accept $11 per hour? Was I flexible in my scheduling? Could I pass a drug screen and background test?
I applied in-person. I interviewed at Planet Fitness (Meridian, MS) in Jan 2026
Interview
Easy interview with the basic questions, such as “tell me about yourself”, “how do you handle difficult customers”, “have you ever worked in a gym setting before”. Very laid back and to the point
The interview process was very good. Just a couple of questions and I was off. Manager was very kind, polite and friendly during the interview. Did not expect as much from a minimum wage job.
