I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at RBC (Frankfurt am Main)
Interview
Since the Frankfurt office is small, I got to interview with almost everybody on the team. After an informal 1st round interview (in-person), I was invited for a day to the FFM office. The day consisted of 5 interviews and 3 tests. Interviews focused on my motivation and general knowledge about the IB industry. There were no competency based questions. As the FFM team is small, the key to succeed there is to have very strong technical skills since there is little time for basic training once you join the team. Hence a lot of emphasis was put on Excel modelling (test 1), knowledge of financial statements and basic accounting (test 2) as well as PowerPoint skills (test 3). Interviews were conducted in German for the most part but excellent command of English is expected as well.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at RBC (Singapura) in Mar 2017
Interview
Very casual interview; nothing technical, other than "If I had a million dollars, what investments would you recommend to me?" It was a 30 minute interview. What I regret not preparing for were for the interview questions below.
I applied in-person. I interviewed at RBC (Portland, ME) in May 2016
Interview
I got it through a family connection so there was no interview. A lot of members at RBC want to help you get an internship so if you know someone within the company try to reach out to them. Everyone that I met was very nice and helpful. The only thing that took awhile was the background check so try to get that in as soon as possible. Could delay you for two weeks.
