I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Shopify in Jan 2018
Interview
I was left in the dark not once but twice. The first time I applied back in December I was sent an email saying thank you we have received your application and so forth and that either way someone would let me know if I got the job or not. Well to no surprise I herd nothing. So I decided to apply again but this time through their recruiting company Randstad. This time I had a phone interview and was emailed to set up a time, date, and send my Skype ID for a face to face interview I did everything and the lady never got back to me after I told her I had hired a replacement at my cost to have an interview and sent her all the information she had asked for. Quit wasting peoples time its no wonder you cannot find and keep people for this position. I was so eager and got my hopes up twice for nothing. Like it said in the email I received twice it would have been nice to be told no than not be told anything.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Shopify in Feb 2018
Interview
The first interview was their Life Story interview. We walked through what I did after high school, my work history and why my experience has brought me to Shopify. I highly recommend to just be yourself during this process, show that you care about what you do and what you hope to achieve by working at Shopify.
My interview was a little bit tight for time, but I was moved over to The Gauntlet and had only 10 minutes to prepare. So I highly recommend preparing as much as possible by looking into all the resources before your Life Stoy interview.
I had to roleplay with a builder and we did 2 chats (one was a live chat with a customer, one on Skype chat for a squad lead) and 1 phone call and 1 email. The process was about 45 minutes. Because it's such a quick process I didn't receive any feedback from my Gauntet as some other candidates stated on Glassdoor, so I think the process had changed quite a bit.
I was told by my recruiter that I would hear regardless the next day. I received a phone call with the offer the day after my interview. I start this month and I'm super delighted!!!
I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Shopify (Toronto, ON) in Jan 2018
Interview
I applied through their website and answered their questionnaires, around 8-12 hours later I received an email asking me to book a Skype interview where you basically talked about your life and experiences. The interviewer was very kind, although I was nervous adding humour helped make me feel less stressed and more comfortable, the interview was around 30 minutes.
I was told I would be moving on to the Gauntlet test which I had to do 30 minutes after my first interview. For the Gauntlet test I had to do a live chat while helping your "coworker," answer a phone call, and then answer an email. They mainly tested if you were personable, showed actual interest in helping the merchant, and if you were resourceful and were able to find the answers using their Shopify Resource page. Each part was timed and it was very intense as you have no actual training in their product. I received an offer email 3 days later.
